Transformational Leadership Programme for Palliative Care Nurses

HOSPICE Casa Sperantei Romania is offering 15 free places on a new one-year lenght Transformational Leadership Programme to nurses from specialised palliative care services in Eastern and Central Europe.
The main goal of this educational programme is to empower palliative care nurses to enhance the quality of care for patients with complex, life-threatening illness and families in their countries. The programme is funded by Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation USA, through The Bridging Cancer Care Initiative in Central and Eastern Europe. This international programme is organised and delivered by HOSPICE Casa Sperantei, a designated Palliative Care Center of Excellence in Eastern Europe and a global model of education and palliative care. Since 1997, Casa Sperantei has trained almost 18,000 health professionals from Central and Eastern European and parts of Asia.
- APPLICATION AND SELECTION: closing date August 1st, 2015 (applicants will be announced via email since August 20th, 2015)
- INTENSIVE COURSE (initial week): 20th- 26th September 2015, Brasov
- MENTORSHIP (via email and phone): September 2015- September 2016
- MONTHLY MONITORING (skype conferences): September 2015- September 2016
- INTENSIVE COURSE (final week): September 2016, Brasov
Graduates will receive diplomas from HOSPICE Casa Sperantei- Nursing Centre of Excellence in Palliative Care in Central and Eastern Europe.
To be eligible for this programme nurses must have at least two years of experience in hospice and palliative nursing practice, currently be working in a nurse leadership position and have good written and spoken English.
The programme uses as a tool for developing leadership skills the personal development plan. Therefore the application form contain also a project submission. This project will be implemented by the applicant during the training programe. Besides the completed form applicant must send a CV and a letter of recommendation. The selection criteria will take into account the applicant’s commitment to participate in all phases of the training programme.
