Hungarian Hospice Palliative Association

community of Hungarian hospices

Who can be a volunteer?

Anyone. Children, adults, students, employees, pensioners, men, women, people who feel like they want to spend their free time to help voluntarily.

Do I have to have a medical education?

No. You can work as a non-professional volunteer, but if you would like to, you can participate in our 40-hour general hospice volunteer training, where you can acquire numerous useful skills in theory and in practice as well. You can find more information about this in the Volunteer training menu. You can ask for tasks depending on the level of your education, profession, or based on what interests you.

Do I have to see dying people?

You don't have to, but you can choose to work beside the patients, though, for this task, you must complete the 40-hour hospice volunteer training. We are also looking for volunteers who will spread information and support the work of hospice services. These services include the protection of the events organized by the Hungarian Hospice-Palliative Association, the preparation and organization of trainings and other events, searching for sponsors and other administrative tasks.
